ADHD Reading

A Chrome reading extension beta with word-start emphasis, focus controls and adjustable typography.

Introduction

Long articles can be difficult to approach when a page combines tight lines, busy sidebars and several competing visual elements. ADHD Reading is a desktop Chrome extension beta that lets readers experiment with the presentation of online text. Word-start emphasis adds gentle weight to the beginning of words, while typography controls adjust scale, line height, spacing, paragraph width and contrast. Light, Balanced and Deep presets provide starting points, and the reader can change the setup rather than relying on a single layout. A focus overlay helps keep the current paragraph visible, and quiet page mode reduces the prominence of surrounding navigation and sidebars. These are reading preferences, so the original page can be restored whenever the adjustments are unhelpful. The website includes an interactive before-and-after preview for trying the same words with different presentation before installing anything. The beta is currently distributed as a ZIP package with instructions for loading the unpacked extension in desktop Chrome; it is not presented as a Chrome Web Store release. Chrome sign-in and email verification are required to activate a 72-hour trial, which does not require an initial payment. The site describes annual and lifetime access, with current checkout availability explained on its pricing page. Readers can test one setting at a time on an actual article and decide which visual changes suit them. The product is an assistive reading tool and makes no claim to diagnose or treat ADHD.
