SummarizeVideoToText is a free browser-based AI video summarizer that converts YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram video links into a text workspace containing a summary, timestamped chapters, full transcript, mind map, and Q&A panel.
SummarizeVideoToText is a web tool that accepts a video URL (YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram) as input and returns a structured text-based output in seconds. It runs entirely in the browser — no downloads or extensions required. The tool uses the video's existing captions to generate its outputs, so it works only on videos that have captions or auto-generated captions available. The platform is offered as a free service with a daily quota, and it is made by the operator of summarizevideototext.com.
Anyone who learns or works from video can benefit from converting long-form content into readable text. Typical users include:
The process takes three steps: first, paste a YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram video link into the box on the page (or choose one of several popular example videos). Second, the tool fetches the video's captions and streams back a summary, key insights, and timestamped chapters in your selected language — most videos finish in under a minute. Third, you can read the full transcript, explore the mind map, ask follow-up questions in the Q&A panel, copy text out, or share the link; anyone opening the shared link gets the cached result instantly.
SummarizeVideoToText is free to use with a generous daily quota. Without an account you can summarize 2 videos per day (each up to 15 minutes), while a free Google sign-in raises that to 3 videos per day (each up to 1 hour) and unlocks TikTok and Instagram summaries plus Q&A. A Pro plan without daily limits is in development, but no pricing is announced yet.
Yes. You can summarize 2 videos a day without creating an account, and a free Google sign-in raises that to 3 a day. Revisiting a video that has already been summarized never costs quota because results are cached.
The output supports 14 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Italian, and Arabic. The output language is independent of the language spoken in the video — you pick it from a dropdown.
Without an account, videos up to 15 minutes are supported. A free account raises that to 1 hour, and a future Pro plan goes up to 6 hours. The number of chapters adapts automatically to the video length.
The tool tries several caption sources, including auto-generated ones, before giving up. If a video truly has no captions in any form, it cannot be summarized yet — audio transcription is on the roadmap.
Yes. You can copy the full summary or chapter breakdown with one click, or download the transcript as plain text. PDF export is coming soon.
