Boards with cover images and their own color palettes, tags, notes, and search. Every image's palette is read on your machine with plain color math — no AI — so you can search "dark green" or a hex code, sort any board into a rainbow, and ask for "more like this" from your own collection. Turn on the optional AI helper and Magpie also titles your captures, reads the text inside screenshots (find that receipt weeks later), suggests tags, and matches searches by meaning. Off by default: bring your own OpenRouter key, or let a paid plan run it with zero setup.

Your boards live in your browser's local storage — and, if you flip one switch, as plain files on your disk: one folder per board, images as ordinary image files, snippets as markdown. Uninstall Magpie and the files are still there. Export everything as a zip any time; import restores it anywhere; any board can become a single self-contained moodboard page. No analytics or telemetry in the extension. It installs with no host permissions; optional, revocable grants add original-file fetching and more reliable post capture.
