Yourtale is for adult children who want to capture their parents' life story and have no time to do it themselves. Most families know the recipes and the phone number by heart, and almost nothing about the twenties, the first job, the town, or the person a parent was before the children arrived. Yourtale exists to close that gap in six weeks instead of never.
An AI interviewer asks your parent about their life, by voice. Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes, whenever the parent likes, on a phone or a laptop. The interviewer follows up on what was actually said, so the answers get specific: the house, the name, the year, the thing nobody in the family knew. Weekly or daily reminders are set up for the parent, so nobody has to chase. Brothers and sisters can record their own conversations with the parent and drop the transcripts in, and everything goes into the same book.
AI drafts every chapter from the transcript, in the parent's own words. The family edits anything that is wrong, themselves; no ghostwriter and no Yourtale staff touch the book. When it is right, we print a full-colour hardcover of about 200 pages, and the real voice recordings are kept alongside it, so the family has the voice as well as the book. One hour of interviewing comes out at roughly fourteen pages. Interviewing most days, about ten hours of conversation fits in six weeks.
One payment, no subscription, and the first interview session is free with no card. Recordings are encrypted in the EU, never used to train models, and deleted on request. Founded in 2026 in Oslo, Norway, by Eirik Albrektsen, a second-time founder in the memory space whose own grandmother's memoir was the first one made.
