Fleet compliance: the check, the defect and the record of both
An inspector will ask for the driver vehicle inspection reports on one truck for the last three months, and the answer will either be a screen or a shrug. This site is for the person who has to produce them. The free checklist sizes what your daily checks actually cost and how far behind your open defects are; the paid plan keeps the record afterwards, one line per check, one line per defect and the date somebody signed it off.
For the person who signs for the fleet
Walkvo Pro keeps one record per check and one per defect, with the repair sign-off and the date, ready to hand over.
Check the vehicle, raise the defect, prove the repair
- Every check is a record with a vehicle, a driver and a date on it. A pre-trip that exists only as a signature on a pad in the cab is a check nobody can produce three months later. Here it is a row, attached to the vehicle it was run on and the driver who ran it, the moment it is finished.
- A defect goes somewhere, and the record says where. The failure mode is not the driver missing a fault, it is the fault being written down and never reaching the workshop. Each defect carries who raised it, when, who it went to, and whether the vehicle was taken out of service in the meantime.
- The repair is certified or it visibly is not. The record an inspector actually wants is the certification that the defect was repaired and that the driver reviewed it. Open defects with no sign-off are counted on the dashboard rather than buried, because that number is the one nobody can answer for.
Walkvo Pro
The worksheet tells you the shape of the round. Pro holds the round itself: one record per check, one per defect, and a repair sign-off that either exists or visibly does not. Walkvo Pro is $10 a month for the whole fleet, billed monthly, however many vehicles you check.
