TranscriptSnap

Free video transcript generator. Upload audio or video and get a clean transcript with SRT and VTT export. No sign-up, no watermark, and your file never leaves your browser.

Introduction

TranscriptSnap is a free video transcript generator that runs entirely in your browser. Add an audio or video file, pick the spoken language, and get a clean transcript with timestamps in seconds. There is no sign-up and no watermark.

How it works
  1. Pick an audio or video file from your device, or drop it onto the page.
  2. Choose the spoken language. 16 languages are available, and each one was measured before it was added.
  3. Copy the transcript, or download it as TXT, SRT or VTT.
Why it is different
  • Your file never reaches a server. The speech model runs inside the browser tab, so the recording is read from disk and stays there. You can watch the network panel while it runs and see for yourself.
  • No limit, because there is nothing to meter. The work happens on your own device, so there is no per-minute cost to recover and no reason to cap how much you transcribe.
  • Subtitles come from the same run. Timestamps are produced together with the text, so one pass gives you a transcript and a subtitle file. Export SRT for a video editor or VTT for HTML5 video.
  • You choose the language. A wrong automatic guess does not fail visibly, it just produces fluent text nobody said, so the language is your decision.
What it is good for

Subtitles for a video that will be watched on mute, captions based on what was actually said, timestamps that point to the moment worth clipping, or a searchable record of a meeting nobody took notes in. Treat the output as a strong first draft: clean single-speaker audio comes out close to verbatim, while overlapping voices, jargon and noisy recordings need a quick edit.
