Transcrever is a web-based audio and video transcription tool that converts speech into editable text, supporting speaker separation and export to TXT and SRT subtitle files.
What is Transcrever?
Transcrever is an online service that takes audio or video files and generates a text transcription. You upload a recording, select the spoken language, and receive an editable transcript organized into segments. The platform runs entirely in the browser and requires no registration for a trial of up to 30 minutes of transcription.
What makes Transcrever stand out?
- Speaker separation — Automatically identifies distinct voices and lets you assign names to each speaker; each exported SRT block includes a speaker label.
- Editable segments with playback — The transcript is broken into short chunks that you can play back while correcting words, punctuation, names, and technical terms.
- TXT and SRT export — Download a plain-text file for reading or a subtitle file with time codes and speaker labels for use in video editing.
- Free trial without signup — You can transcribe up to 30 minutes total with files up to 10 minutes and 100 MB, without creating an account.
- Multiple language options — Choose from Brazilian Portuguese, English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese for transcription.
- Cross-device history on paid plans — Pro and Studio subscriptions keep your task history accessible across devices, with transcripts retained for 30 or 90 days.
Who should use Transcrever?
- Journalists and researchers — Review recorded interviews, verify names and quotes, and then extract precise citations.
- Students and teachers — Turn recorded lectures into searchable text to locate explanations and correct terminology.
- Podcasters — Generate transcripts for show notes or SRT captions for video versions of episodes.
- Meeting participants — Convert recorded meetings into a text document to review and prepare minutes.
What can you do with Transcrever?
- Interview transcription — Upload an interview file, separate speakers, and correct names before citing sections.
- Lecture transcription — Transform a classroom recording into a searchable document with corrected technical terms.
- Podcast transcription — Produce a TXT file for show notes or SRT for video subtitles.
- Meeting transcription — Turn a meeting recording into text for sharing or drafting an ata (meeting minutes).
How does Transcrever work?
- Upload a compatible audio or video file (up to 100 MB in the trial), select the spoken language, and enable speaker separation if multiple people are speaking.
- Listen to the segments that need review and correct words, names, and voice labels.
- Download the transcript as TXT for reading/editing or SRT to continue subtitles in another program.
Pricing
Transcrever is freemium. It has a free tier with limited monthly minutes and file size, plus two paid subscriptions, Pro and Studio, that increase the monthly quota, maximum file size, transcript retention time, and add cross-device history. Annual billing is offered at a discount.
FAQ
It accepts AAC, FLAC, M4A, MOV, MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, and WebM. The maximum file size and duration depend on your plan; the trial limit is 100 MB and 10 minutes per file.
Which languages are supported for transcription?
You can choose Brazilian Portuguese, English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese. Select the language of the recording before transcription; you may still need to correct proper nouns and technical terms.
Do my corrections get saved if I close the page?
No. If you refresh the page or switch devices without being on a paid plan, your corrections are lost. Always download the corrected TXT or SRT before leaving.
How long are my files and transcripts kept?
For completed transcriptions, the recording is available for up to 24 hours. The transcript text is kept for 7 days on the free/trial access, 30 days on Pro, and 90 days on Studio. You can delete it earlier.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
You can cancel a subscription in the billing portal; paid access continues until the end of the already-paid period. In Brazil, you can request a full refund within 7 days of the first purchase. Other requests are analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
