Rumoro is a social listening API and MCP server that watches 16 public platforms for mentions of a brand, its competitors, or a topic, and returns each post with a sentiment and an intent label so AI agents and teams only see conversations worth answering.
What is Rumoro?
Rumoro follows keywords across Reddit, X (Twitter), Hacker News, GitHub, Bluesky, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Stack Overflow, DEV, YouTube, News, App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot, and Google reviews. Each matched post is scored from 0 to 100 against a description of your company and tagged with a sentiment plus an intent such as buying intent, question, complaint, bug report, churn risk, or comparison. Output reaches you through a browser dashboard, a REST API with a published OpenAPI reference, TypeScript and Python SDKs, a CLI, an MCP server for agents, or alerts in Slack, Telegram, email, and signed webhooks. Billing is pay-as-you-go from a topped-up balance: no subscription, no per-seat price, and no feature tiers,
What makes Rumoro stand out?
- 16 prebuilt collectors - Reddit, X (Twitter), Hacker News, GitHub, Bluesky, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Stack Overflow, DEV, YouTube, News, App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot and Google reviews, polled from every 5 minutes on Hacker News to twice a day on YouTube, with no API keys or scrapers to maintain.
- Context-aware scoring - every post receives a 0–100 relevance score plus a sentiment and an intent derived from what your company actually does, so a sailing post about dropping anchor is set aside rather than passed to your team.
- MCP server for agents - 55 tools over HTTP at mcp.rumoro.dev/mcp, authenticated with a one-time browser sign-in instead of a copied API key, working from Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenClaw and other MCP clients.
- API parity with the dashboard - anything the dashboard can do, the REST API can do, with an OpenAPI reference, TypeScript and Python SDKs and a CLI.
- Signed webhook delivery - webhooks arrive signed and timestamped and are retried when your endpoint is down.
- 30-day backfill - adding a keyword immediately pulls in posts from the previous 30 days wherever the platform allows it.
- Per-keyword spending caps - set a monthly cap on a keyword's mentions; at the cap it stops matching until the 1st of the next month or until you raise it.
Who should use Rumoro?
- DevRel and community teams: collect open questions about an SDK from Stack Overflow and GitHub, plus new tutorials on DEV and YouTube, into one feed instead of checking each site.
- Sales teams: catch posts where someone asks for a tool like yours and route them to a Slack channel such as #sales while the thread is still open.
- Brand and product marketers: follow your own name and each competitor as keywords to see week-over-week share of voice and who is unhappy with a rival.
- Founders and small teams: start with a single keyword and a Slack, Telegram or email alert, without writing any code.
What can you do with Rumoro?
- Brand monitoring: track every mention of your name across the 16 sources, flag negative posts as they appear, and receive a weekly digest of what needs a reply.
- Competitor tracking: follow a rival as a keyword to see how the conversation splits this week, who is evaluating alternatives, and when the competitor launches something.
- Community and DevRel: list unanswered questions about your SDK and GitHub issues that mention your package in a single queue.
- Sales prospecting: send buying-intent posts to a channel with the poster's profile and company where listed, so someone can answer before the thread closes.
How does Rumoro work?
- Tell it what to follow — a product name, a competitor or a topic, added in the dashboard, through the API, or by asking your agent; recent posts from the past 30 days arrive straight away.
- It works out what is about you — each post is scored from 0 to 100 for relevance and tagged with sentiment and intent based on your company description rather than the keyword alone.
- You hear about the ones that matter — choose Slack, Telegram, email, a webhook, your agent, or a daily or weekly digest that puts what needs a reply first.
Pricing
Rumoro is paid and pay-as-you-go: $5 per keyword per month taken in daily slices while the keyword is active, $0.008 for each matched mention whether or not it turns out relevant, and $0.008 for each new review on a connected page. New accounts get $5.80 of credit, once per person, enough for one keyword for 30 days plus 100 mentions. Top-ups range from $20 to $5,000, a paused keyword costs nothing, and alerts, digests, webhooks, API and MCP calls and extra teammates are never charged separately.
FAQ
Do I need to write code to use Rumoro?
No. You can add keywords and receive alerts in Slack, Telegram or email plus a daily digest entirely from the dashboard. The REST API, TypeScript and Python SDKs, CLI and MCP server exist for teams that want to query mentions or trigger workflows from code.
How often does Rumoro check each platform?
Hacker News is polled every 5 minutes, GitHub every 15 minutes, News every 15 minutes, Reddit every 30 minutes, X, Stack Overflow and DEV hourly, LinkedIn and TikTok every 3 hours, Instagram every 6 hours, YouTube twice a day, and review sites daily. Bluesky arrives in seconds.
What happens when my balance reaches zero?
Rumoro stops listening once the balance cannot pay for another day, and nothing you have configured or collected is deleted. Add funds and tracking resumes against the same keywords and alerts.
Can my AI assistant listen for me on its own?
Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor cannot watch 16 platforms around the clock. Connected to Rumoro's MCP server at mcp.rumoro.dev/mcp, an agent gets 55 tools to search, sort and summarise mentions that Rumoro has already collected and scored.
