Every code page gives a plain-language explanation of what the code means, the symptoms it causes, the likely causes in order, step-by-step fixes, and an FAQ.

What makes it different from other code lookup sites is the data behind each page: real telemetry from 634,705 workshop scans logged in the past year, showing how often each code actually appears, what percentage of scans it represents, and which codes commonly appear alongside it. Manufacturer-specific pages add per-make scan breakdowns. No other DTC reference publishes this kind of real-world scan data.

OBD DashX is also a free Android app, published by DashX, that reads and clears fault codes from any car with an ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II adapter. Connect the adapter to your car's OBD-II port, pair it with your phone, and the app pulls the stored codes straight from the vehicle's computer, along with live data streamed from the car's sensors. Every fault code the app reads is matched against the same plain-language explanation you get on the site: what the code means, common symptoms, the likely causes in order, and the steps to fix it. Reading codes and viewing live data is free; clearing codes, which turns off the check-engine light after a repair, is a one-time paid upgrade.

The two halves work together.
