Mustvo

The selection sheets behind a system requirements checklist, for the person who has to choose, and nobody else

Introduction

Contract management system requirements: score the vendors, count the gaps, cost the whole thing.

System requirements for the person who has been told to choose something and has to write down what it must do first: which vendor actually wins once each requirement group is weighted rather than counted, how much of the must-have list each one covers and what the gaps would cost in workarounds every year, and what the whole thing costs over the years you expect to keep it once implementation, migration, training and support sit alongside the licence. Free, on the page, no account. Pro keeps the requirements themselves: each with its priority, its owner, the vendors scored against it and the decision you made. Nothing here is a vendor ranking, a template library or a benchmark price.

Built for the arithmetic behind a small software selection, on purpose

Mustvo is not a template library, publishes no vendor ranking and has no opinion about which product is better in general, because that question has no general answer. Every figure on every sheet is there because somebody choosing a system needs the score, the coverage and the cost of ownership to be right before they sign something they will live with for five years.

Score the vendors. Count the gaps. Cost the ownership.
  • Which vendor wins once the requirements are weighted. On the worked example both vendors score 7.67 unweighted, an exact tie. Weighted 45/35/20 they come out 7.50 and 7.45, and vendor A wins by 0.05. That is not a rounding artefact, it is the whole point: the weights are doing the deciding, so they deserve more attention than the scores.
  • What the must-haves nobody meets will actually cost. 24 must-haves with 20 met is 83% coverage and four gaps. At 40 hours a year of workaround each, those four gaps cost 160 hours, which is 4.3 working weeks a year, every year. That figure belongs next to the licence fee in the comparison, and it almost never is.
  • What the whole thing costs, not what the licence costs. A $14,400 licence looks like the price. Over five years with $18,000 of implementation, $7,500 of migration, $4,200 of training and $2,400 a year of support it is $113,700, or $22,740 a year and $568 a user. 37% of that is not licence at all, and year one alone is $46,500.
The free tools

Every sheet on this site computes on the page, free, with no account and no trial clock. The free version is the whole calculation; the paid plan is about keeping it: requirements with their priority and owner, vendors scored against each one, the gaps and what you decided to do about them, your name on the printed sheet and a clean export.

  • Learning management system requirements: Score each vendor against weighted requirement groups, and see whether the weighting or the scores decided it.
  • LMS functional requirements: Work must-have and should-have coverage per vendor, the gaps, and the hours the gaps cost every year.
  • Emr system requirements: Work total cost of ownership from licence, implementation, migration, training and support over the years you keep it.
Mustvo Pro

The sheets are free forever. Pro turns them into the record: every requirement with its priority and its owner, every vendor scored against it, the gaps and the workaround decided for each, your organisation's name on what you print, no watermark, and an export when the decision has to be justified. Mustvo Pro is $19 per month for the whole selection, billed monthly.
