Monty.fast is a web-based AI video editor for creators, founders, and small teams who publish short-form video and do not want to spend the evening inside a timeline. Start with footage you already have. Upload an MP4 or MOV clip from your phone or camera, or begin from a script and record it with the built-in browser teleprompter. Monty then assembles an editable preview: it cuts pauses, filler words and weak takes, writes captions timed to your speech, lays in music and b-roll, and applies your brand colours, fonts and caption style. Nothing is final until you approve it, so you can rewrite the script, swap the music, adjust the captions and re-render before you download anything. What comes out is a finished vertical master, sized for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok. Publishing connections are enabled per account during the closed beta, so most accounts download the file and post it themselves for now. Where Monty sits among other tools: schedulers publish on time but never touch the video itself, and traditional editors hand you a timeline and leave the export and the upload to you. Clip tools need an archive of long recordings to slice. Monty is footage-first and covers the seam between editing and a finished post: one short take you filmed goes in, a finished short video comes out. Monty does not generate AI actors, avatars or text-to-video scenes. Everything on screen is your own footage plus licensed music and stock b-roll. The free plan covers three videos a month with clips up to three minutes. Paid plans start at $29 a month. Monty is in closed beta and access opens in waves.
