GPT Image 2.5 is a browser-based AI image generator and editor built around OpenAI's GPT Image model line. It is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by OpenAI; the product is named after the model it runs, and the relationship is stated on the site itself.
OpenAI released GPT Image 2.5 on 8 September 2026 as the successor to GPT Image 2, and for the first time split the generation into two API models. GPT-Image-2.5 Flare is the speed-first default, cutting latency by up to half against the previous generation, which suits high-volume work and fast iteration. GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst takes longer in exchange for finer control, and is the tier people mean when they search for a GPT Image Pro. This site runs both, and the model picker names the engine that is about to run before any credit is spent. The same picker also exposes earlier GPT Image versions and several third-party engines, so a visitor can put the same prompt through more than one model instead of guessing which one suits the job.
Two input modes cover most work. Text-to-image takes a plain-language prompt: there is no prompt syntax to memorise and no negative-prompt ritual, so a visitor describes subject, setting, framing, lighting and mood in ordinary words and then tightens one clause at a time. Image-to-image accepts as many as sixteen reference pictures in a single pass and treats those uploads as the anchor for the edit, which is what allows a background swap, a garment restyle, a product placed on a new surface, or a photo repair to keep the original subject rather than becoming a different picture. Precise local editing is the defining change in this generation: point at the region that is wrong and only that region is changed, leaving composition, lighting and the rest of the frame as they were.
Output controls include sixteen aspect ratios ranging from square through 21:9 and 9:21, quality tiers from low through max, rendering at 1K, 2K or 4K, transparent backgrounds and custom resolutions that drop straight into a design file. The GPT Image family was designed with in-image typography in mind, so posters, packaging mockups, app screenshots and infographics are common use cases, and Chinese, Japanese and Korean render as real glyphs rather than approximated shapes. Dense fine print can still slip, so layouts should be proofed before they ship. Subject consistency across a long editing thread is much improved over the previous generation but is not a solved problem, and faces can pick up light artefacts after many passes.
Everything runs in a modern web browser with no desktop application to install, and the interface is available in English and Chinese. Alongside the generator the site publishes an example gallery and a blog covering the GPT Image model line. Visitors can create an account with Google, GitHub, or email and password, and a new account created with Google receives 10 one-time credits at no cost. Monthly and yearly plans start at $15 per month, and one-time credit packs are available for people who generate occasionally rather than continuously.
The intended audience is designers, marketers, small-business owners, content and social creators, and anyone who needs an image or a targeted edit without opening a design tool. Generated images may still need human review for accuracy, likeness, typography or suitability, and users are responsible for the prompts, uploads and references they choose to submit. The canonical product name is GPT Image 2.5 and the canonical public website is https://image25.online/.
