Flowmaps

Visual app planner that turns a one-sentence idea into a feature map and a step-by-step build plan for Lovable, Bolt, Cursor and Claude Code.

Introduction

Flowmaps is a visual app planner that turns a one-sentence app idea into a feature map and an ordered build plan written for AI coding tools such as Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor and Claude Code. It does not write code itself — it produces the plan your AI builder follows, one step at a time.

What is Flowmaps?

Flowmaps is a browser-based planning tool for apps that will be built with AI. You describe an idea in plain language (one sentence is enough) or paste a website URL, and Flowmaps returns a map of the features the app needs, grouped into Build first, Next and Later, plus build instructions phrased for the specific AI builder you use. It runs at flowmaps.app and is made by the team behind the Wishloop and Adonboard apps, both of which were planned on Flowmaps maps before being built.

What makes Flowmaps stand out?
  • Idea-to-map in one sentence — describe the app like you'd tell a friend, and Flowmaps lays out every feature and what order to build them in; you can rename, add or move cards.
  • Scan for gaps — checks the whole map for what apps usually need and beginners forget, such as logins, security, a database for storing data, privacy rules and emails, explaining why each matters and where it fits.
  • Builder-specific plans — the plan is written in the shape Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor or Claude Code understands; for other tools you copy the plan across manually.
  • Live build board — cards move from "In progress" to "Shipped" as the AI builder completes each step, so you can see what is done and what comes next after days away.
  • Risk flags — warns about payments, personal data and cost exposure before you prompt.
  • Email-to-map (Pro) — send an idea by email and it lands directly on your map as a card.
  • Public help pages (Pro) — publish help articles for your own product's customers.
  • Activity log and viewer seats (Pro) — an audit trail plus two viewer invitations for clients or advisors.
How does Flowmaps work?

Three steps: describe your idea, review the feature map Flowmaps generates and reorder what should be built first, then hand the AI builder one step at a time — the board advances the card when that step is finished. The same plan works whether you build a mobile app or a web app, and a finished app (Wishloop went from plan to live in three weeks; Adonboard in one week) can be traced back to its map.

Who should use Flowmaps?
  • First-time, non-coding founders: turn a plain-language idea into an ordered feature list that Lovable or Bolt can follow instead of guessing at whole-app prompts.
  • Experienced developers on larger apps: hand Claude Code or Cursor one precise step at a time and keep a board of what shipped.
  • Agencies planning client work: one agency plans the automations and tools it builds for clients in Flowmaps before building.
  • Teams: the Team plan includes five people, editor and viewer roles, and one shared Anthropic key.
What can you plan with Flowmaps?
  • Mobile app builders: map a habit tracker with reminders, streaks and a progress screen before asking an AI builder for it.
  • SaaS builders: lay out a booking tool where customers pick a time, pay online and get a reminder the day before.
  • Internal-tool builders: sketch a client dashboard that shows each client's projects, invoices and next steps in one place.
  • Rescuing a messy existing project: paste your website link, describe what already works, and Flowmaps maps what is missing and in what order to fix it.
Pricing

Flowmaps is free to start, with a Free tier ($0), Pro ($19 per month, or $15.83 per month billed yearly with two months off) and Team ($49 per month). Free covers one venture with up to 30 cards, AI features using your own Claude key, building with Claude Code and the terminal, risk flags and help article drafts. Pro adds unlimited ventures and cards, email-to-map, public help pages, an activity log and two viewers, and every new account gets 14 days of Pro without a card. Team includes five people with editor and viewer roles and one shared Anthropic key. Early bird pricing: Pro for $12 per month for life for the first 100 customers. The first 100 accounts also get 25 free AI actions; afterwards the AI runs on your own Anthropic key, billed by Anthropic with no markup. Prices are in US dollars plus tax.

Alternatives
  • Miro — a general whiteboard canvas where you draw the boxes yourself.
  • Whimsical — flowcharts and mind maps drawn by hand.
  • Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Claude Code — these build the app; Flowmaps plans it.
FAQ
Does Flowmaps build the app for me?

No. Flowmaps produces the plan; your AI builder does the building. You hand each step to Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor or Claude Code, and the board shows what is done and what is next.

Do I need my own AI key?

Not to try it. The first 100 accounts get 25 free AI actions. After that you add your own Anthropic key — a few dollars of credit, with most actions costing a few cents, and no markup from Flowmaps.

Is Flowmaps free?

Yes, to start. The Free plan covers one app idea with up to 30 cards on its map. Pro at $19 per month (or $15.83 per month billed yearly) unlocks unlimited ventures and cards, and Team at $49 per month covers five people.

Can I plan an iPhone or Android app?

Yes. Mobile apps for iPhone and Android are planned the same way as web apps — you build the plan with whichever AI builder you prefer.

How is Flowmaps different from Lovable or Bolt?

Lovable and Bolt write code; Flowmaps decides what to build and in which order, then writes instructions those tools can follow one step at a time.
