How to sell a business, without losing the file it runs on
Exitvo is for the owner selling their own business: the checklist of what a sale needs, the document set a buyer's diligence will ask for, and a record of what has been gathered, what is outstanding and who has been given it. The worksheets on this site are free and work your own figures on the page, with no account, so you can size the job before you decide whether software is worth paying for.
Gathered, filed, shared
Everything a buyer's diligence asks for, in one file: what you hold, what is outstanding, who has been given it and which version they got.
A sale is a document problem long before it is a negotiation
- Everything a buyer will ask for, in one place with its date. Diligence lists run to dozens of items and arrive in stages. Held in email, the answer to what have we sent them is a search through threads; held as a file, it is a screen.
- Every ask tracked against the person who made it. More than one party asks for things, often for the same things, often at different times. Tracking the request rather than the document is what lets you answer who is waiting on what without reconstructing it.
- Which copy they have, and when they got it. Numbers get restated during a sale, and a buyer working from a superseded version is a problem discovered at the worst moment. A dated version record is the cheapest insurance in the whole process.
The free tools
Every worksheet here works on the page, free, with no account. They are the preparation itself: the document pack costed out in your own hours, and a broker's contract worked through at your own expected price so the fee is a number rather than a percentage. Enter your figures and the answers change as you type. Nothing is emailed to you and nothing is held back behind a sign-up.
- Selling a business checklist: Size the document pack before a buyer asks for it: how many documents, how long each takes to find, the share you do not have to hand, and your own hourly worth, worked into hours, cost and hours a week.
- Business broker contract: Work a broker's engagement into figures: commission at your expected price, the retainer and whether it is credited, the minimum fee as a percent, and what reaches you.
Exitvo Pro
The checklist is free. Pro is what happens once a buyer is actually asking: the documents go in as records, each request is tracked against the person who made it, and every version carries the date it was shared, so nobody has to remember which copy anybody has. Exitvo Pro is $24 per month while your sale is running, billed monthly.
