CD Calculator is a free, browser-based certificate of deposit interest calculator that instantly computes maturity value, total interest earned, and effective annual yield from your initial deposit, APY, term length, and compounding frequency.
CD Calculator is a standalone web tool that runs entirely in your browser with no signup or data storage. You input your initial deposit (principal), APY or APR rate, term in months (including partial months), compounding frequency (daily, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual), and interest payout method (reinvest/compound or withdraw/simple). It outputs the maturity value, total interest, effective annual yield, and an optional full amortization schedule. The calculator also supports after-tax estimates and includes a separate early withdrawal penalty calculator and a CD ladder calculator.
The calculator uses the formula ( M = P \times (1 + r)^n ), where ( r = (1 + \text{APY})^{1/\text{periods per year}} - 1 ) and ( n = \text{term in years} \times \text{periods per year} ). Fractional months are handled with fractional periods.
CD Calculator is completely free to use with no ads, no signup, and no hidden costs.
