Tickmarko

Document management, a client portal and the engagement paperwork for a small accounting practice

Introduction

Document management software for accountants, built around the workpaper trail

Document management software for accountants that keeps the client's records, the request list and the engagement paperwork in one place instead of an inbox, a shared drive and a chased spreadsheet. Two free worksheets run on the page with no account: price an engagement from your own hours and rate, and set the fee schedule an engagement letter has to name. Tickmarko Pro keeps every client, request, document and engagement as a record with a history, so a reviewer can find the file a year later. Nothing here is a fee scale, a tax rate or a professional standard; every figure is yours.

Built for the client file, on purpose

Tickmarko is not a ledger, a tax return package, a practice CRM, a timesheet or a payroll bureau, and it is not going to become one. Every field exists because someone in a small practice needs to find the document a client sent, prove when it arrived, and show what was agreed before the work started.

Price the engagement. Agree the terms. Keep the file.
  • An engagement priced from your own hours and rate. Six bookkeeping hours a month and fourteen year end hours at $95, two payroll runs at $25 and $30 of rebilled subscriptions is $760.83 a month before discount; a 10% introductory discount makes it $684.75, or $8,217 a year, worked on the page before you send it.
  • A fee schedule the engagement letter can actually name. An $8,200 annual fee over twelve instalments is $683.33 each, with $820 due on signing and out of scope work at $145 an hour; three expected extra hours is $435, so the year is $8,635 and nobody argues about it in March.
  • Every document and request kept against the client. Proposed, in progress, delivered, billed and paid, closed: every engagement against its client with every document dated and every request marked outstanding or received, so a reviewer finds the file a year later without asking anyone.
The free tools

Both worksheets compute on the page, free, with no account and no trial clock. The free version is the whole calculation; the paid plan is about keeping it: every client, every document, every request and every engagement as a record with a date on it and your practice's name on the paperwork.

  • Proposal software for accountants: Price an accounting engagement from your own figures: bookkeeping hours a month and the year end job at your charge-out rate, payroll runs at a fee each, rebilled subscriptions and an introductory discount, into a monthly fee and the annual value of the engagement.
  • Engagement letter software for accountants: Work out the fee schedule an engagement letter has to name: the instalment, the deposit on signing, the rate for out of scope work and what it will cost, the expected total for the year, and the late fee on one overdue instalment.
Tickmarko Pro

The worksheets are free forever. Pro turns them into the record: the client file with its documents and requests, the engagement with its fee schedule, every change dated, your practice name and logo on the letter, no watermark, and an export when a reviewer or a successor practice asks. Tickmarko Pro is $79 per month for your whole practice, billed monthly.
