Outclimbed

A startup leaderboard where you buy a rank slot from $10 or climb for free by sending visitors through your share link.

Introduction

OutClimbed is a pay-to-list startup leaderboard and directory where a site buys a rank slot on a public wall of 50 positions, starting at $10, or climbs the same wall for free by sending visitors through a tracked share link.

What is OutClimbed?

OutClimbed is a ranked directory wall for startups, side projects and indie products. A maker submits a site with a title, a one-line pitch, a favicon and a category, and the listing is sorted against every other site by a running point total. Rank is calculated as base points plus bought points plus earned points plus bonus points at the moment the page loads, so the order changes as money and traffic arrive. The whole product runs in the browser, with category filters for Developer, Agents, SaaS and Software, Productivity, Marketing, Design, Business and Finance, Social and Other.

What makes OutClimbed stand out?
  • Rank is a formula, not a vote — position equals base + bought + earned + bonus points, displayed openly on every card along with the click breakdown.
  • Buy a starting position — $10 buys 10 base points and lands a new site at #29; $31 places it in the top 10, $50 in the top 5, and $299 takes #1.
  • Top-ups at one dollar per point — every dollar above the $10 minimum converts to a permanent bought point that never decays.
  • Earned points expire — a share link pays +1 for each new visitor and +5 when one of those visitors buys a place of their own, credited in full for 30 days before both drop off.
  • Badge bonus — adding the OutClimbed badge to your own site adds a flat +30 bonus points.
  • Free queue — a no-payment entry path exists and is placed in a waiting queue; at the time of capture the queue was full and the site advised checking back the next day.
  • Daily side board — a separate "Today's ranking" list resets on a countdown timer and ranks the sites that sent the most visitors that day.
  • Live activity and click stats — a newest-first feed shows each visitor a site sent, and footer boards rank sites by people brought in and clicks sent over the last 30 days.
Who should use OutClimbed?
  • Indie founders launching a side project: list a product the day it ships and get a numbered position on a wall seen by other makers, with clicks tracked per listing.
  • Makers with an audience but no budget: join the free queue and push their share link to earn points one visitor at a time instead of paying the $10 entry.
  • Newsletter writers and personal-brand sites: use a slot to drive traffic to a single URL, since several of the top entries are personal sites and X accounts rather than software.
  • Small advertisers: the wall reserves a $150 advertising placement, which was unfilled at the time of capture.
Use cases
  • Pre-launch validation: post a landing page at the $10 entry level and watch the click count on the listing to gauge whether the pitch line converts strangers.
  • Growth experiments: compare a paid climb against a share-link climb to see which produces more visitors per dollar over the 30-day earning window.
  • Community building: sites that buy through someone's share link credit that referrer with +5 points, so a founder with an audience can climb simply by sending their list to the wall.
How does OutClimbed work?

The site reduces onboarding to three steps: list it, even free; share your link; climb to #1. After listing, the position updates continuously from base, bought, earned and bonus points, and any points scheduled to expire are shown on the card with the date they drop and the price to pass the site once they do.

Pricing

Entry is free through a queue that can be full, or paid from $10 for 10 permanent base points. Higher starting positions are sold at preset prices: $31 for the top 10, $50 for the top 5 and $299 for #1, with additional points purchasable at one dollar each. A separate advertising slot is listed at $150.

FAQ
Is OutClimbed free to join?

A free queue exists, but it can be closed — during capture it showed as full with a note to check back the next day. Paid entry starts at $10, which buys 10 base points and a position around #29.

Can I buy a permanent #1 spot?

No. Bought and base points never decay, but the price to take a higher position is quoted live ($299 for #1 during capture), and sites below can out-earn a buyer through share-link traffic.

How do points expire?

Earned points stay at full value for 30 days and then drop off, which is why listings show notes like "−35 pts expire within 7 days" alongside the price to pass that site afterwards. Base and bought points are permanent.

How do I earn points without paying?

Share your listing link: each new person who reaches the wall through it adds +1 point, and if one of them buys a place you get +5, credited even weeks later within the 30-day window. Keeping the OutClimbed badge on your site adds a flat +30.
