Monocards is a macOS app that turns your content into on-brand visual cards for social sharing and personal branding, with a local MCP server so AI agents can design cards from your templates.
Monocards is a native Mac app (macOS 15 or newer, built for Apple Silicon) that creates visual cards from your text, numbers, or screenshots. It bundles 18 purpose-built card types—including device mockups, charts, code snippets, release notes, milestone counters, and poll results—and renders each card entirely on your device, with no cloud processing. The app was made by Wim Van Buynder, a solo developer and former agency owner. It requires no account, works offline, and is sold as a one-time purchase.
The workflow is content-first: pick a card type, edit your content (numbers, text, or screenshot), choose one of your saved templates, and export or drag the result into a post. For agent use, you can copy a fetch command from the site and paste it into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or similar tools to set up Monocards and design your first on-brand card.
Monocards is a paid one-time purchase, not a subscription. Three license tiers are offered: Basic for 1 person on 1 Mac, Personal for 1 person on 2 Macs, and Team for individual keys starting at 3 Macs. Every license includes all 18 card types, templates, the local MCP server, and exports. A 14-day money-back guarantee is included.
Monocards' own comparison targets Canva and Figma, as well as generic online image generators. The main differences it claims are native offline operation, one-time pricing, no account, on-brand templates, and MCP/CLI integration—things the other tools do not offer together.
No. Monocards requires a license to run, so there is nothing to try before purchase. Instead, every purchase includes a 14-day money-back guarantee—you can activate the app, use it fully, and request a refund by email if it isn't for you.
No. Each card is drawn by the app itself from your template, ensuring consistent fonts, colors, and layout. The optional AI agent only provides content through the local MCP server—no image model, no API key, no token cost, and rendering stays offline.
No. It's a one-time purchase with one year of updates included. After the first year, renewal is optional; existing versions keep working indefinitely and nothing is downgraded.
Monocards requires macOS 15 or newer and is built for Apple Silicon. It is distributed as a signed and notarized direct download, with updates delivered in-app.
Yes. Style a card with your own colors and fonts, save that look as a template, and reuse it across every card type.
