3I/ATLAS Tracker is a dedicated web platform for real-time tracking, observation guidance, and scientific context of Comet 3I/ATLAS, the third confirmed interstellar object to visit our solar system.
3I/ATLAS Tracker is a free web-based hub that aggregates live telemetry, orbital data, and educational resources for Comet 3I/ATLAS, discovered in July 2025 by the ATLAS survey. It takes in real-time data from observatories and space agencies to produce an interactive orbit visualization, observation scheduling tools, and a curated news feed. The platform is developed by the 3I/ATLAS project team and runs entirely in the browser.
Observing requires a telescope with at least 200mm (8-inch) aperture due to its faint magnitude (~12.1). Best viewing is from a dark sky location (Bortle 3 or better) during early morning hours (02:30–05:00 local time) between October 2025 and January 2026.
The optimal observation period is October 2025 through January 2026. The comet reaches perihelion on October 29, 2025, and its closest approach to Earth on December 19, 2025, offering the best brightness and visibility.
Its hyperbolic orbit has an eccentricity of 6.3 (greater than 1), proving it originated from beyond our solar system. Unlike solar system comets, it will never return after its current passage.
