One impossible target
Thirty-eight matchdays. Thirty-eight wins. A single draw ends the run — not a lower score, not a worse grade, the run is simply over. 38-0-0 Serie A is built entirely around that one condition, and everything else in the game exists to make it harder or easier to reach.
Drafting from history, not from a wishlist
You do not pick players from a global list. You spin a club and a season — Fiorentina 01/02, say — and you get the players who actually played there that year. Pick one. Spin again. Repeat until the XI is full.
That constraint is the game. You might land on a season with a world-class keeper and nothing else you need, and have to decide whether to burn the pick. The squad you finish with is shaped by what history offered you in the order it offered it, not by what you wanted.
Rules you set before you start
- Formation — decides which positions you still need, and therefore what a wasted spin costs
-
- Difficulty — how much margin the simulation gives you
-
- Ratings visible or hidden — drafting blind is a different game entirely
-
- Every club, or locked to one — single-club mode is the hard version
Then all 38 matchdays
Once the XI is set, the season plays out. You watch the results come in and find out where it breaks — because it almost always breaks. Getting to matchday 30 unbeaten and dropping two points away to a mid-table side is the experience the game is designed to produce.
