LaunchPad is a task-starter app for iOS and Android that breaks any task into 3–8 micro-steps and walks you through one screen at a time, built specifically for moments when you know what to do but can't get started.
LaunchPad turns any task you're stuck on into 3–8 tiny steps, each designed to take 30 seconds to 3 minutes. You type a messy version of the task ("clean my room"), and it gives you step one: "Put the clean clothes in a pile on the bed." The app shows only that step, full-screen, and after you complete it, haptics and a sound mark the win. It's available on iOS and Android, works offline for all built-in templates, and uses Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash AI for custom tasks when no template matches. It's built by an independent developer, not a company.
LaunchPad is made for anyone stuck on a task they know they need to do. That includes people with ADHD, depression, chronic fatigue, long covid, or executive dysfunction, as well as anyone having a bad week. The app never asks for a diagnosis—it's a general wellness tool, not a medical device. It's also for people who've spent forty minutes deciding which task to start, or who have dishes that have been "five minutes" for three days. If you're a student facing an essay, an employee with a pile of emails, or someone who just can't get out of bed, LaunchPad gives you a single next action.
The workflow is three screens. First, you type the task however it sounds in your head—no categories, no priority field. Second, LaunchPad picks a template or asks Gemini for steps, then shows step 1 of 3-8 on the full screen with a "Done" button. Third, completing the step triggers haptics, then the next step appears, until the task ends with a completion celebration. You can skip or go back at any time, and on Pro you can edit steps and save your own templates.
LaunchPad is freemium. The free plan includes 5 free launches to start, then 1 free launch per day, all 25+ templates, offline mode, voice input, and session resume. Pro costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year (17% savings) and adds unlimited breakdowns, AI steps for any task, full haptics, template editing, and adjustable step size. There's a 3-day free trial of Pro at installation with no card required.
Yes. The free plan gives you 5 launches on install, then 1 launch per day, with all templates and offline mode. No credit card is needed for the free plan. Pro is optional, at $4.99/month or $49.99/year, and comes with a 3-day trial.
For all 25+ built-in templates, yes. The app works without a connection for template-based breakdowns. Custom AI breakdowns via Gemini require a network connection because the task text is sent to the AI service.
A to-do app stores tasks and shows you a list. LaunchPad shows one single step at a time and deliberately hides the rest. It's designed to break paralysis, not to manage a backlog, so there's no list, no due dates, and no streak guilt.
Only the task text you typed, and only when no template matches. It never sees your name, email, device ID, or history. The text isn't used to train anything and isn't retained after the steps come back.
