Recorder is a free, open-source web application that captures your screen, camera, or both directly in your browser with no downloads or installations required.

What is Recorder?

Recorder is a web app that takes your screen and/or camera feed as input and produces a WEBM or MP4 video file as output. It runs entirely in the browser on Chrome and Chromium. The project is a fork of the original Recorder by Contrast, maintained by Addy Osmani on GitHub under the MIT license.

How does Recorder work?

Just open record.addy.ie, choose your recording mode (screen only, camera only, or both), optionally customize the camera shape and teleprompter, then click the red Record button. During recording your camera appears in picture-in-picture. After stopping, you can download directly as WEBM or convert to MP4 using built-in FFMPEG.wasm.
