The No Tax on Overtime Calculator is a free web tool that estimates your federal tax savings from the overtime premium deduction under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) for tax years 2025–2028. As of the 2026 filing season, more than 15.5 million workers have claimed the No Tax on Overtime deduction – the most claimed of the recent tax cuts. The relief primarily benefits millions of taxpayers who reported earning overtime, many of them veterans and people working in lower-wage jobs.
The No Tax on Overtime Calculator is a web-based tool at notaxovertimecalculator.com that calculates how much of your overtime premium pay (the extra 0.5x above your regular rate) may be deductible from federal taxable income under OBBBA. You input your filing status, hourly rate, weekly overtime hours, weeks worked, modified adjusted gross income (MAGI), state, and tax year (2025–2028), and it outputs your estimated deductible overtime amount and tax savings. The calculator applies deduction caps ($12,500 single / $25,000 joint) and income phase-out rules automatically. It was created by Jeff Garcia, and its formula is openly documented on GitHub.
The calculator follows a four-step process: 1) Enter your hourly wage, annual overtime hours, and MAGI. 2) The calculator isolates the overtime premium portion (0.5× the regular rate). 3) It applies the deduction cap ($12,500/$25,000) and income phase-out based on your MAGI. 4) You receive the estimated deductible overtime amount and potential tax savings, based on 2025 federal tax brackets and the standard deduction. State taxes and FICA are excluded.

It covers tax years 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028, which are the years the OBBBA overtime deduction is in effect.
Yes. The law provides separate deductions for overtime and tips. You can enter both amounts in the calculator to estimate the combined benefit.
The full formula, pseudocode, tax tables, and worked examples are publicly documented on GitHub. Anyone can audit the math.
