Battlefield REDSEC is a free-to-play Battle Royale game developed by EA and DICE, launched on October 28, 2025 exclusively on PC via Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store, featuring 100-player matches on the massive Fort Lyndon map with tactical destruction and vehicle warfare.
Battlefield REDSEC is a standalone free-to-play Battle Royale title that drops 100 players into Fort Lyndon—a 5km×5km map in Southern California. Unlike mainline Battlefield games, it focuses exclusively on Battle Royale and the fast-paced Gauntlet mode, with no traditional Conquest or Rush. Players choose from four classes (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon), loot weapons, call in custom loadouts at Loadout Stations, and fight to be the last squad standing. Vehicles like tanks, helicopters, and jeeps play a central role, and environments can be destroyed to create new cover and sightlines.
Pros:
Yes! Battlefield REDSEC is 100% free-to-play. You can download and play the entire game without any upfront cost on Steam, EA App, or Epic Games Store. All 48+ weapons, 4 classes, maps, and modes are completely free; optional cosmetic purchases have no gameplay impact.
The Best Class Guide recommends starting with Assault or Support. Assault offers straightforward assault rifles and a Grappling Hook for mobility, while Support provides ammo to the team and doesn't require advanced positioning.
Weapons are unlocked by leveling up your account and completing specific challenges. Each weapon has different unlock requirements. During a match, you can call in your unlocked weapons at Loadout Stations. See the Weapons Database and Unlock Weapons Guide for details.
Battlefield REDSEC focuses on team play. Battle Royale offers Squads (4 players) and Duos (2 players) modes. You can queue alone and be matched with random teammates, but there is no dedicated solo mode at launch.
