It's just for fun (nothing is stored or sent anywhere), but every result comes with real archaeology and population-genetics context behind that ancient group — not just a random label. You also get a shareable result card image you can download or post straight to social media.
Built as a fun front door into MyAncientDNA.com, an independent guide site for people trying to make sense of the "ancient origins" and ethnicity results on their DNA test reports.
How it works: you answer six lightweight lifestyle questions (favorite way to spend an afternoon, preferred climate, taste in food, etc.), and your combined answers map to one of six ancient population profiles. Each result page walks through the archaeological period, the genetic markers commonly associated with that ancestry, and how that population shows up in modern DNA test reports from providers like AncestryDNA, 23andMe, and MyHeritage.
The quiz links back into the wider MyAncientDNA.com site, which has deeper written guides on each ancient population, a Science section explaining how ancient-DNA testing and admixture percentages actually work, and an FAQ for people confused by terms like "Steppe ancestry" or "Early European Farmer" on their own results. The whole site is independently run and not affiliated with any DNA testing company — it exists purely to help people interpret the ancestry breakdowns they already got from their test.
